when should i consider consulting services?
Anytime you have a project or idea that you'd like to design a clear path to the finish line, a consultation will be an invaluable resource. Whether you're taking on a special build of your own, navigating city or county codes, or simply wanting to know how to hire the right people, a consultation is an investment in the beginning of a project that can save you vast sums of money by the end of the project. If you're unsure whether you can benefit from a consult, give Kevin a call at 512-652-8711 & he'd be happy to determine his services would be complimentary to your project.
What is kevin's background that assists in his understanding of various projects?
Kevin' weekends spent with his grandfather (who was quite brilliant, special, mechanically-inclined employee of NASA) taught him much about using his curiosity to learn new things. From the time he finished high-school, Kevin worked in maintenance for a 200+ unit apartment complex. He gleaned practical wisdom from lead maintenance for several years until he moved along to the Travis County Sherrif's Office, where he was an officer, eventually with an extra special assignment - teaching a trade to inmates so that they when they were no longer incarcerated, they'd have a marketable skill to offer potential employers. Kevin & his wife, Jessica managed their first property flip (in which Kevin also obtained his Real Estate license) with the purchase of a foreclosure that was brought to stud walls, remediated, beautified, listed & sold. From there, Kevin decided to evolve his skill set by attending the University of Texas at Austin - Cockrell School of Engineering to earn his degree as a Civil Engineer. He has taken all of what he's learned to not only build (for the first time) a home for his family out of insulated concrete forms (see blog for more info) and built as a family project with his wife and son. Kevin has an uncanny ability to power through difficult tasks with codes/permitting, be it residential/commercial. He's an invaluable resource & his clients often verbalize the value of what he brings to the table long before the project is over. Kevin continues to add to his skillset by mentoring with some of the industry's brightest & most accomplished builders.
