the folks behind roots...
About Kevin & Jessica
Kevin & Jessica Reynolds have been close friends since their first date & the opportunity to work together since they met has been an unexpected blessing. Kevin will always be a rowdy, fun-loving, hard-working, man's man & Jessica will bring a softer, creative element to every project they dream up. Together, they tackle each task with great dedication & a lot of laughter. The legacy of family is their heart as they proudly have a total of six children ranging in age from infant to adult that they relish spending as much time with as possible.
About Roots Design Co.
Kevin's love of woodworking & construction began as a little boy - standing waist high next to his grandfather while peering at the transforming magic of the lathe. As time marched on, he continued developing his skill & became a self-taught furniture maker, commissioned by many in the Hill Country to create custom pieces. (His custom pieces grace various Austin area homes, businesses & houses of worship.)
He later took his love of building to the University of Texas & earned a civil engineering degree with a specialization in concrete. After graduation, he found he didn't enjoy life behind a desk & returned to working with his hands, mainly woodworking and welding, later incorporating metal & wood CNC's to up his fabrication skills. He personally built his family a wonderful home on a hill in Spicewood alongside his wife & through that project has been fortunate to pass down some of that skillset to their children.
Jessica loves flexing the creative muscle with inclusions in epoxy, decorative paint finishes & specialized stain techniques. She may be found in the spray booth with her finger on the trigger or batting around ideas for new builds & troubleshooting alongside Kevin in shop projects. Jessica handles photographing their projects, managing social media, advertising and web design when she's not chasing after their little ones & enjoying the comraderie of other homeschooling families in their community.
